August 23, 2014. A BIG day for all of us at Sutera Harbour Resort – the 14th Sutera Harbour 7K Sunset Charity Run. Having more than 10,000 runners congregate in one venue to run for a good cause in aid of our 7K Beneficiaries (Sabah Thalassaemia Society & Special Olympics Sabah) has been an amazing experience. It’s kind of surreal to be sitting down, writing this recap of our 7K Run.

Just before the kickoff, Guest of Honour YB Datuk Haji Tawfiq Abu Bakar Titingan, Minister of Youth & Sports Sabah led all of us into a minute of silence in remembrance of the passengers and crew of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17.

One minute of silence for victims of MH17.

Guest of Honour YB Datuk Tawfiq (4th left), accompanied by our Deputy CEO Gerard Tan (3rd left) and invited guests observing the silent moment for victims of MH17.

At 5.17pm, the fun run began with participants running, walking and catching up with others talking about their favourite topics. Before they knew it, they reached the glorious FINISH line.

But wait, it’s not over! All runners were treated to a post-run concert where a Zumba dance and 16 local talents took the stage. Stealing the lime-light was our youngest performer, Myra Lilly Aduk who took our hearts as she belted away to the tunes of Let It Go (Frozen) and Roar (Katy Perry).
