40 Years Later : Double Six Anniversary in Kota Kinabalu

Today, 6 June 2016 marks the 40th anniversary of Sabah’s worst plane crash tragedy. As early as 7.30am, family members were seen gathering around the Double Six Monument to honor the lives and memories of their loved ones.

Here’s a glimpse of the highlighted ‘Wreath-Laying Ceremony’ at the Double Six Monument located in Grace Point, Kota Kinabalu.

If you would like to know more about the history, do visit the 4,000sq feet Double Six Gallery which is dedicated to the memory of Sabah State leaders and passengers on board GAF Nomad light aircraft, which crashed at the site of Double Six Monument on June 6, 1976.

Located in Grace Point, Sembulan, the gallery is open to public and operates as follows :

Tuesday – Friday : 9.00am to 6.00pm
Saturday/Sunday/Public Holiday : 9.00am to 1.00pm
