The countdown have started for the annual, much anticipated Sutera Harbour Resort’s 11th 7k Sunset Charity Run. Scheduled to be flagged off at the covered tennis court area of Sutera Harbour Marina Country Club on 16th July 2011, the event is expected to draw a crowd of close to 5000 participants. Nett proceeds collected during the 7K Carnival will be distributed to the Special Olympics Sabah and Sabah Thalassaemia Society, the beneficiaries of the 7K Run. Participation fee is RM25 for adults and RM15 for children which includes a 7K T-shirt and a cash voucher from Grace One.
The committee of the event have been busy receiving pledges and support from schools, corporate entities and government bodies. Activities lined up for the 11th 7K Sunset Charity Run includes the many food stalls, lucky draws and of course, entertainment by local artistes.
Today, The Director of Sutera Harbour Resort, Mr Foo Kia Inn together with his team called on Mayor of Kota Kinabalu, YBhg Datuk Abidin Madingkir at his office today.
During the visit, Mr Foo briefed YBhg Datuk the history of the 7K Sunset Charity Run and the activities planned for this year’s Run.
YBhg Datuk Abidin Madingkir said ‘ I am pleased to note that it is a litter free event and hope that members of the public will observe the rule to make 7K Run a litter free event.’
He further enthused ‘It is my hope that members of the public will come forward to participate in the run and at the same time contribute towards the underprivileged.’
