It’s going to be SIMPLY THE BEST 16th Palliative Care Association of Kota Kinabalu (PCA) Charity Concert & Dinner on 29th July 2016 (Friday) at the Grand Ballroom, The Magellan Sutera Resort!
Pleased to share that this is a SOLD-OUT EVENT! We will see more than 1,000 people coming to support this fund raising dinner event which features the Tina Turner Tribute Show by Luisa Marshall, world renowned tribute artiste and TV host. Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, the artiste who has appeared at the Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres talk show will perform her popular rock songs which has captured the hearts of both young and old for decades such as Simply The Best, What’s Love Got To Do With It and Proud Mary.
Tina Turner Tribute Band also spent their time with patients at the PCA Day Care to brighten & make a difference to their day to remember by. Here’s some snippets of the highlighted day at the PCA Day Care :
The Home Care programme collaborates with Palliative Care Unit (PCU) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) and the service extension at the Palliative Home Care in Tuaran Hospital covering Tuaran and its surrounding areas which was initated by PCA and PCU. Providing care to an increasing number of young & old patients, up to 120 patients at any one time, the Home Care is now run by a full time Medical Officer Dr Chitra Rajendran, a Nurse Manager, 5 Nurse Coordinators, and Administrative Secretary and a driver with assistance from a pool of dedicated and committed volunteer doctors, nurses and non-medical volunteers. Equipment is also available for loan to the patients to use at home for free in and around Tuaran.
PCA & PCU is also now working in partnership with the Cardiology Dept in QEH 2 to provide the possible care to patients who have end-stage cardiac failure. It is hoped that more comprehensive palliative care can be given in the near future. PCA will continue to give good standard of care through continuous training and learning to the people in Kota Kinabalu.
This event would not have been made possible without the generosity and continuous support from all our donors, patrons and well-wishers to enable PCA to provide palliative care holistically to the terminally ill and their families. Together with the PCA team, we would like to thank all those who never fail to give their assistance & support.
